See your hygienist for professional cleaning at the recommended time intercal (usually every 3-6mths)

If drinks have a high stain potential, use a straw

Remember to brush shortly after you have foods or drinks that are highly staining. If you can’t, try to rinse with lots of water.

Avoid abrasive toothpastes which may wear the enamel, exposing more of the darker substructure in your tooth (the dentine)

Don’t smoke!

Finally, use your home whitening kit to give you a little boost occasionally!

“I want my teeth whitening, and have read your offer but I’m getting married in a few weeks, have I left it too late?”

There are two methods in which tooth whitening can be achieved, and a combination of both methods will give the optimum results. Firstly, there’s in the in-surgery light activated whitening. We book you in for around a one hour appointment. The Zoom! gel is applied to the teeth and it is then activated by the Zoom! light. This is done in cycles of 15 minutes, and is usually done 3 times.

Secondly, we provide you with bleaching trays that are made from impressions of your teeth to ensure a good fit. Your are then given the Zoom! bleach and the instructions of how to use the kit. Home whitening is usually done for 2 weeks, but results can normally be seen from day to day.

“I’ve had my Zoom! tooth whitening and am really pleased with the results, but how long will they last?”

Whitening results tend to last really quite well, but it will depend on you personally. Often people adjust to seeing their teeth a brighter shade and soon think they’re not as white as they were when you first bleached, when in fact they are its just you’ve become accustomed to the new shade.

Obvious things like smoking will stain teeth and make your teeth regress quicker. The more your diet conists of highly staining foods and drinks, such as red wine, coffee, curry and bolognase, the more likely you are to see your results fade a little quicker than others may.

The good news is that we provide you with 6 syringes of bleach and on average you should use 3-4 in your initial 2 weeks. So, you should be left with plenty more to just pop it back in for a night here and there when you’ve got something special on like a wedding or a holiday! This will maintain things nicely, and you can always just buy replacement bleach from us in future when you do eventually run out!

Of course! We can do whats called internal bleaching – which is exactly what it sounds like – we put the bleach inside the tooth rather than normal whitening on the outside surface. Plus there’s always veneers and crowns that can make things look more like you want them to.
