CT SCANS
Dental x-rays provide two dimensional representations of the structures of the mouth. With the CT scans we are able to view the structures of the jaw in three dimensions. This enables us to accurately determine the volume of bone available for the placement of dental implants. We are able to assess the proximity of anatomic structures to proposed implant sites and identify pathology, increasing the predictability of the procedures. Due to all of these advantages we believe this technology will become the standard of care for the placement of dental implants.
At Buckle and McGrath we use them to view a very precise 3 dimensional view of bone and nerves prior to the careful placement of dental implants.
We also use them to determine potential causes and treatment for clicking and painful jaw joints
